My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You know how some cats are aloof, or shy, and will be afraid when new people come into your home? Well I am definitely NOT that type of cat! In fact, I'm pretty much known as the "official greeter" at Healing Hope Cat Sanctuary. I am the cat who wants to meet you, be loved by you and be your best friend! My rescue "mom" calls me a bit of a goofball as I do have a playful, mischievous side. But otherwise, I am just happy to curl up next to you . . on the sofa or in bed. . . . and be loved. Because I am a Siamese mix, I like to talk . . . but not a lot . .. just some "chirping" at dinner time.
I was rescued from death row of a high kill shelter. Sweetie was my original name from the place the shelter confiscated me from. But being black and sleek, my rescuer added on the name POE, because of the story of the Raven, by Edgar Allen Poe.
I am about 7 years old, in prime health. I've been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. If you are interested in adopting a beyond, beyond loving boy, please contact my pet rescue mom. They tell me my adoption fee is $90, but when you meet me you will find I am worth so much more than that! Currently I am staying at the Sanctuary home in San Clemente, CA.
