Chloe was released to Gulf South Golden Retriever Rescue today from the wonderful people at the Terrebone/Houma animal shelter. She was picked up as a stray and not claimed, but is in very good condition. She is medium/large, weighing about 60 pounds and slightly underweight. She is reddish gold in color. On first impression, she seems a mix of good training and little worldly experience. She knows sit and come and is calm and friendly with people. However, she doesn't seem to have experience in riding in cars and is afraid of them while on walks. Also, she acts like she has never been on a leash, starting, stopping, being startled, and then bursting ahead.
But with all this, we see a VERY good mind and heart. She is super responsive to us, both personally and in obedience. She was playing with our large male golden within a couple of minutes and has not shown any aggression or fear of him. We will update Chloe's story over the next week as we get to know her and she becomes comfortable with us.
