My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I am BJ, the magnificant Blue & Gold Macaw. I have plucked but some of the feathers are coming back. I am very shy and timid and not aggressive at all. It will take me awhile to learn to trust you. Here at Dee’s Haven we have worked on trust and now I love to hold Donna’s fingers in my foot and my mouth. I am pretty gentle about it and only occasionally get a bit hard but she reminds me to be gentle with kisses. I will tell you hello but don’t say much else. I am a quiet guy and just need some TLC and frequent bathes. My diet has improved and my feathers are improving as well. I love nuts, especially almonds and walnuts. I love spending time on top of my cage and pretty much stay there. I haven’t come down to roam around yet. We are working on step up and that’s a pretty good thing. I do love to chew on your shirt though so you have to have a couple of old ones that you don’t mind me making little holes in. Donna says I am a very sweet guy.

UPDATE--BJ has started stepping up part of the time. He loves to sit in my lap on a blanket and play or to hang out of my shoulder.
