My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SWEET PEA needs a pod. Are you her other pea?

SWEET PEA is a shy, gorgeous little Tortie girl who earns her name by gently taking your wrist into her paws as her way of saying, 'I love you. Will you please pet me now?'

Sweet Pea loves to fetch her favorite toy and stands on her hind legs to bat it around in the air. She is OK if other cats or dogs are around but mostly is interested in sharing her affection with people.

Sweet Pea is currently residing at Save the Animals Foundation (also known as STAF.) STAF is a no-kill shelter with a physical building where you can visit during adoption days. Normal Adoption hours are Thursdays 6-8 pm and Saturdays 1-4 pm. Please call 561-STAF to verify hours for the week and get directions to STAF's shelter. Adoption fees are $85 for cats (includes carrier.)

She is not quite a senior at 8 yrs old but our experience is that the adopters who consider seniors are more concerned with a loving temperament than age. Thus, we've posted in this category because we want this great cat to have your consideration. She is meant to be an indoor cat but is nevertheless microchipped. She is fully vetted & healthy although FIV positive so you would be adopting a ready-for-life-with-you kitty.

Harry Potter had his forehead mark & Sweet Pea has her version too! USA tabbies tend to have an ‘M’ mark over their foreheads (mostly for ‘Marvelous’ or at least in this case.) Can you make it out in her photo? SWEET PEA looks like an orange tabby who fell into a vat of ink! Instead of calling her a Tabby, a Tortie, or Calico-Combo, let’s dub a new type: a TabbInky! Doesn’t she have the most unusual coloring? Perhaps it goes along with her unusual rescue by ‘Foreclosure Cats’.

Sweet Pea is one of the 'Foreclosure Cats' that a group of volunteers rescued in 2007. Her portrait was painted by a talented artist but Sweet Pea didn't let it go to her head. She remains a humble lovebug. However, because artwork was done in her likeness, you can order that painting on a mug, notecards, totes, print, coaster, tile, mouse pad or more.

IMPORTANT! IMPORTANT!: We respond to ALL emails so if you don't hear back, check your SPAM folder.

Please note that there is a reasonable adoption fee & she may not be declawed.

Thank you for visiting! Meow.
