My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Woofie, a beautiful 13 year old Samoyed mix who is hoping to find her forever family! This pretty girl is just as sweet as can be, and her great loves in life are people and food. As long as she has these two things, she's happy! Despite what her name may suggest, Woofie isn't much of a barker. But she does let out a couple of "woof"s when she thinks you're holding out on her with either food or attention (again, her two loves in the world). She speaks on command, and also sits and lays down. She is a quick learner, and everyone knows food motivated dogs are the easiest to train! Woofie knows how to use a dog door and relies on one for middle-of-the-night potty breaks.

Woofie is always up for a romp around the park, a walk through the neighborhood, or a good game of fetch - and afterwards she'll be happy to join you on the couch for some relaxation time.

Woofie would do best with an experienced adopter who is willing and able to help Woofie work through her anxiety. Being moved around so much at her age has caused her to be uncomfortable in new situations, which can manifest as separation anxiety, accidents in the house (she is pretty good about using the pee pad), or resource guarding with other animals.

She gets along with gentle, calm dogs who give her space when she needs it, and gets along with most cats (she tends to do best with a confident cat). She is also good with calm, older children who understand her needs as a senior lady. She would be happy to be part of a family with any of the aforementioned members, or a home where she can be the only pet/"child".

Woofie requires daily medication, which she is happy to take when wrapped in cream cheese or other tasty substances.
