My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ms. Tilly came to us from a angel that picked her up off a country road in the rain. She was soaked, cold and had recently weaned pups. Much of her coat was missing and what was there was filthy; matted with feces and urine. She took her home, bathed and clipped her and called us. No one seemed to be looking for Tilly so we have been working very hard to get her physically and emotionally healthy.

Tilly was virtually bald when she came to us and in extremely poor condition. The raw diet and holistic care practiced by Star-Mar paid off, again, and Tilly is looking good. She has settled into her foster home and working very hard to be a super good girl.

Tilly i s about 2 years old. We think she's a Havanese and a Powder Puff Chinese Crested cross. She weighs 9 pounds and is one big cuddle bug. She is loyal and devoted to her foster provider, gets along great with the other dogs in her home and seems to be fine with cats. Tilly cannot be crated without a lot of anxiety. Anxiety has been Tilly's biggest hurdle to overcome. We feel that she must have spent her life in a crate with little care or attention. We have addressed her anxiety with Valarian Root which is a calming herb.

Tilly is easy to bathe, clip nails and groom. She knows her basic commands, sit, lay down and come. Tilly is house trained if you are home with her or not gone more than about 4 or 5 hours. After that we think that she gets very anxious and then has accidents. We feel that Tilly will need someone to be patient and kind to her to help her to settle into her new home and learn that routine. She can still be concerned when approaching some new people or with sudden movements but she doesn't retreat to another room, just hangs back until she's comfortable.

Tilly LOVES her daily walks, loves to run and play sit on your lap, held in your arms and sleep in bed. She is a very sweet, soft little dog that has had a very difficult past.

Tilly's adoption will require a fenced yard and someone that is not gone an 8 plus hour work day; someone that works from home, works very part time or is retired. Tilly would be fine living with visiting, respectful children. Another well adjusted dog in the house would be a plus.
