My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Zeke is the most laid-back sweet dog that I have ever fostered. He reminds me of a surfer-dude. Not a care in the world and always has a "smile" on his face. He loves to play with toys, run around in the backyard.

He is very well mannered and very gentle which is why he is being trained as a therapy dog - surprisingly, he cannot control himself around cats, seems to be his only weakness thus far but it is being worked on - he does not hurt them but really wants to chase them. Zeke has the type of temperament that will make him the perfect therapy dog. He does not jump up on people unless given permission . Even then, sometimes he wants you to put him up there. He is VERY good around the elderly about not "touching" them unless allowed. Children can carry him around like a doll and he does not care, in fact, he will try to nap while he is being "played" with by small children.

He has been taken taken into a nursing home and shown great manners. He sits automatically and allows the elderly to come to him, wheelchairs do not frighten him in the least and the bleeps or tweets from medical equipment are ignored. He has accidentally been stepped on by a resident and he politely removed his foot from under the residents chair.

Zeke has mastered basic obedience and would be best suited for; Therapeutic Visitation, Animal Assisted Therapy or Facility Therapy. Applicants must be willing to have themselves and Zeke certified as a therapy team. He is extremely smart and has taken to the training without many distractions and is very mindful of his handler. He has great socialization skills and has been in the public at Flea Markets, Home Improvement stores, basically every where a dog is allowed without any issues. He does not pull on lead and sits when approached by strangers. He allows petting, actually he encourages it by putting his head "in" your hand. When not working or playing, he loves to sit in the window seat and watch the world go by.

Zeke is a super great dog and will make just about anyone very very happy. Could he be the best friend you've been looking for?
