My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lilly a six year old, 9 pound, Maltese mix. We were asked to take her by a rural shelter that felt that she was in such bad condition she was not adoptable. WOW, what a wonderful little dog she turned out to be!

Lilly is a total love. she is house trained, crate trained (but doesn't need one). She gets alone wonderfully with other dogs but doesn't need to live with one. Lilly fits into any group; knows no strangers, is great with children, LOVES to go in the car and sleep in bed. However Lilly does like to chase cats...

Lilly is very affectionate but is not in need of being the center of attention. She is very smart and extremely obedient. Her foster says that you have to whisper if you don't want her to know.

We believe that Lilly will eventually be all white. When she came into the shelter she was so flea infested that she had little hair from her shoulders back and what was there was orange from chewing on herself. We feel that with her next groom (next week) that area will be more white than beige.

Lilly has regained her health and beauty with the help of a raw, balanced diet. She will do best to continue on a raw diet such as Primal or Instinct. Her adoption requires a fenced yard and someone that is home more than a 40 hour work week allows; someone that works from home, works very part time or is retired. She would do fine with children 8 years or older in the home. Lilly will require regular grooming.

If you feel that your lifestyle and environment fits with Lilly's needs please email Martha at learymjri@aol.com or call 330-466-3667 or 330-262-0515 for more information or an application. Our adoption process is 3 steps; once an application is approved, then a home visit is done and the final step is to complete the adoption at the foster home. Adoptions are $250. Dogs are completely vetted, heart worm negative and micro chipped. STAR-MAR RESCUE IS REGISTERED WITH THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
