My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lil Bit is approximately 2 years old...he was adopted from Huntsville Animal Services back in November of 2014. He was adopted as a companion for the couple's current resident cat. The cats get along very well but there is a distinct difference in energy level between the two and we are hoping to find him a more active and social home. It was a spur of the moment adoption and it was made with the best of intentions...but it is not working for the cats or their people.

Lil Bit's level of activity and need for space are not a good match for his current home...he needs room to roam and run...he loves being in the middle of everything and know what's going on...he is inquisitive and energetic. These things don't always jive with the lifestyle of mature couples who have set routines and preferences.

Kittens are kittens...teenagers are teenagers...sometimes we think we want a young energetic cat, but what we need is a laid back and established 3-5 year old cat. We make mistakes...and these folks are owning theirs. They know they adopted the wrong cat for their lifestyle...they love him and want him to have the kind of home he needs and deserves.

That being said...Lil Bit is a spunky and energetic boy. He loves other cats and should do well with a cat-loving and tolerant dog (we can give you tips to help make introductions as painless as possible). He LOVES to play and chase...and explore his surroundings. He is very sweet and just wants to be in the middle of the action. He has never been around small children so we are not sure what to expect.

He may be shy at first but I suspect he will warm up quickly once the toys come out and he gets caught up in the moment. Praise and positive reinforcement...some patience and understanding...he will blossom in the right setting.

Lil Bit is of course neutered and up-to-date on his vaccines; he is also microchipped.
