Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Joshua is a Muscovy duck who we saved from a homeless person's shopping cart, to which he was tied in with a rope around his neck, as they passed by on the sidewalk in front of a store we just left. We saved him with the help of a wonderful employee from the store on a hot summer day. Joshua was extremely dehydrated and she brought out a large tub of cool water for him. Luckily I had some cash with me and was able to buy Joshua from his captor--he was for sale as fresh dinner.
I have never seen a duck enjoy a bath more than Joshua did that day. He plunged his head, wriggled, splashed, flapped his wings, and drank, drank, drank, to rehydrate himself. When he was finally totally comfortable, I tucked him under my arm, and on my lap we went for the long drive home, together with also a large white rescued Pitbull dog who was sleeping in the back area of the SUV, who needed to be dropped off at our boarding kennel.
We even made a stop at the ATM. People were cheering as they saw Joshua's long neck and head peering behind the steering wheel and through the car window. He made quite a splash that day, literally and figuratively!
