03/30/2015 POOR TIPPSY HAS HAD IT ROUGH

Tippsy was picked up from the Shelter and once she was home she started vomiting and had diarrhea. She was taken to the hospital where she was given medication and the doctor kept her to be sure she was ok. They were not certain what caused the problem but she did not vomit while she was hospitalized. She did have really bad hookworms which they treated. She also had an upper respiratory infection. Chest x-rays showed mild heart enlargement from the heartworms. Her lungs looked good. The rest of her blood work was normal. She is back at her temporary foster home and is recovering from her ordeal.

03/08/2015 TIPPSY WAS NOT WANTED BECAUSE SHE IS HEARTWORM POSITIVE

Poor Tippsy was overlooked at the Shelter by other rescue organizations because she tested positive for heartworms. This seems to be a far too common occurrence, but we could not let Tippsy die so we stepped in to help.

We will have more to report after she is seen by one of our veterinarians and she is settled into her temporary foster home.

In the meantime if you think you can help we are sorely in need of donations and foster homes. PLEASE HELP anyway you can.
