My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Arrival story: Murphy is a purebred Irish Setter that was given as a surprise gift. The family wasn't prepared to raise a puppy and surrendered Murphy to Waggin' Tails.

Approximate age: Murphy was born in November 2007, so he is 6 months old. A perfect age for adoption and to bond with his new family.

Personality: Murphy seems to be a perfecty well-behaved boy. He is acting submissive and playful with the dogs in his foster home and he allows his foster parents to take toys and food away from him. He is being a perfect boy.

Forever home: We are just getting to know Murphy, so we'll update this section soon. Right now the only requirement for his forever family is that they must look forward to raising a puppy. He needs a family that will look forward to taking him to obedience classes and who will recognize that for him to be the perfect adult, he'll need time every day for mental and physical exercise...just like any puppy!

Pre-Adoption Application::

To be considered for a dog, it is best to submit a pre-adoption application. The Pre-Adoption Application can be downloaded from our website - http://www.waggintailsdogrescue.org/adoptionprocess.html. Just complete the application and email it back to sashnmax@yahoo.com.

Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $175, $275 for small breed dogs or $200 for puppies plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age. Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.

We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check
www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. With few exceptions, we show our adoptable animals on Saturdays from 12pm - 3pm at PetSmart in Northville (on Haggerty Rd between 6 and 7 mile) or PetSmart in Canton (the northwest corner of Ford Rd and Haggerty Rd). Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).

Please be kind to our volunteers who have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries will be answered much more quickly than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.

Thank you for your support of rescue and your interest in a rescue dog!
