My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Update (July 26 2015) Umbro has now discontinued insulin due to putting him on the correct diet. His blood sugar is in the perfect range. He is on a low carb wet food diet and doing wonderful. If you're considering this guy, you just need to feed him the low carb diet. He is a healthy happy wonderful sweet guy who will change your life if you bring him home!

Hello future forever friend or family! My name is Umbro. I want to tell you all about myself because I am one fabulous kitty and do believe I have earned the right to brag a little bit. First, some basics about myself. I am a mixed tabby male age seven. I weigh about 14lbs which is ten pounds les then I used to weigh. I have huge ears and large paws and am not fat, just a big kitty overall. This means I can fill up your lap with my warm soft furry body easily. I am told that I have slimmed down to a good weight for me since I am just a big boy which means when I snuggle up with you you feel my presence. I love playing cuddle bug and will lay along side you in bed at night! Someone declawed me which is a practice that should be made a lot harder to achieve but I am told some of you out there only want declawed kitties.

When I was just a tiny kitten I was found outside and a kind woman decided to help me and eventually she chose to keep me and adopt me. I had the same home with her for around seven years. Then, recently, I was diagnosed with diabetes. Now don't let that scare you - I am stable now on a type of insulin. My human foster gives me two very quick injections around 12 hours apart or so. I am responding well to the injections. In fact, the vet I used to go really adored me and chose to keep me alive when my owner decided she could not handle doing two shots per day.

The humans at the vets office in Avon contacted different rescues and found LiFeline Adoptions, Inc. They responded by agreeing to do an intake on me and do the paperwork stuff that humans do to transfer ownership to them so that I could be placed in foster care and then adopted into a forever home. Now I am in foster home. I adjusted completely within just 24 hours, most of the adjustment was instant. I was even able to be fast tracked the first night to meet the fosters own kitties and did well with some brief nose to nose sniffing each other. Quite honestly I love kitties and therefore showed zero aggression toward them. Since they are passive and not dominant personalities, I was able to start co-mingling the second day.

I am actually happy here with my foster brothers but this is not the end for me since I need a forever home. I am completely adopt-ready now. This means I have my latest vaccinations, have been deformed and flea treated and have even been microchipped. This comes with a lifetime registration, free in fact if I want that option. I also come with a 25.00 pet store voucher and lots of other goodies for my new owner person.

I am a very easy cat to have around. I am quite mellow and a real gentleman. I love to play with all kinds of things like a stick under rug, laser light, strings and love chasing and play wrestling with my foster siblings. I am a true treasure and a real catch for someone. I will adjust very quickly and will be on your bed every night near you, if that's what you like. I will greet you when you come home and I love hanging around where people are kitties are.

Please call my humans and ask about me. Then come meet me and you will fall in love with me immediately.
