Couch potatoes need not apply! Kira's a terrier, and for anyone who's had a terrier, you know what that means! She loves to play with cats and larger dogs and is even starting to play with our small dogs now, but on initial meetings with new dogs, she acts either scared or bossy. Give her time to settle in and feel secure, and her busy, playful terrier personality comes out. You can't help but chuckle when watching her bouncing through the house playing with her toys. She'd like a basket full of toys, please. Kira would also very much enjoy being your jogging or hiking partner!
On cold evenings, she likes to nap inside her foster mom's shirt with some buttons closed, like a swaddled human baby. Too cute! She's still a puppy and needs some additional work on house training. She is crate trained and sleeps in her crate at night.
Due to her small size and thin legs, no young children please. If you have another dog, she's probably best matched up with a dog that's larger than her. For some reason, she really loves playing with larger dogs (Joey is her favorite playmate in her foster home and he's around 50 lbs).
For Kira, we'd prefer adopters who have small terrier experience and have recently taken positive motivation obedience classes. If you are local to our area, we recommend using Jill Wright for training classes.
