Frank has a fantastic story to tell. If dogs could talk.... We recently rescued Frank from a shelter where he was on the euthanasia list with no hope of adoption. You see, Frank was suffering from an old leg and hip fracture that was not treated and he was obviously in pain and terrified in the shelter. When we went to rescue Frank they would not even put him in our crate do to his "aggressiveness" and we had to get assistance just to get him out of there with minutes to spare!
Fast forward to now...Frank is the happiest dog you could meet. His transformation in a very short time has been nothing short of miraculous. We quickly had Frank checked by our Vet and put him on pain meds to manage his pain while we figured out what course of action we would take with his leg. We didn't even know if his leg could be saved and amputation was definitely a thought. His x-rays showed a pretty horrific injury with a lot of scar tissue. Frank just had his surgery and his leg will be saved. Surgery was long and quite extensive but Frank is doing well. Frank will need a supportive home to help him through the healing process, but once he's healed...watch out this guy is going to melt hearts!
Frank is a 1 year old male Dachshund mix with a long body and short legs.
He is neutered and up to date on shots.
Frank will need to stay close to Lompoc for follow up vet visits
There is no adoption fee for Frank since he will need a very special home to help him through his recovery.
