My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

"Eliza" was named after the character in My Fair Lady, played by Audrey Hepburn. If you know anything about that character you'll know a bit more about four footed, feline Eliza's personality!

This little cutie had been on the streets for awhile before we realized she had been dumped or just left to fend for herself. Once we saw the neighborhood tom cats were hanging around her, we knew she had to be rescued and spayed right away!

We soon realized that Elzia was a bit scared of people and due to her personality, we felt she had been abused. She likes people and clearly was "owned". But she is jumpy and does not like her lower back or tail touched. . . definitely a sign she might have been mistreated by children.

It has taken us awhile to earn Eliza's trust but little by little she is getting better. She loves to sit on our lap and be stroked. She falls over on her side for head pets and kisses. The sensitivity around her tail area and lower back is much better and she now lets us pet this area to give her lots of love and time to trust again.
Her new adoptive or FOSTER HOME should be a quiet place with one or a few adult people. . . . no other cats or maybe only one other calm, quiet cat. We do not know how she does with dogs.

So like the fictional character mentioned, our Eliza, is still learning to be a social girl. We would love someone to give her a chance by either fostering or adopting. She is healthy, with a gorgeous silky coat. All medical such as spaying, testing, vaccinating, microchipping and flea treatment has been done.

Please note that if you foster for us, we will pay for all food and medical expenses, should they be incurred.
