My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Arrival story: Kitty was rescued from a local shelter where she was surrendered by her owner who lost her home. Kitty had not been well cared for and was left outside. She had a bad case of fleas that had gone untreated and lost some hair as a result but it is growing back now that she has been treated.

Approximate age: 10 months and 45 lbs.

Personality: Kitty was rescued from a shelter because she was going to be euthanized. She is currently living in a foster home with two other dogs and getting along great with them.

Although Kitty was neglected by her former owner, it has not broken her spirit or affected her optimism. Kitty has a playful, cheerful disposition and is very friendly to people. She spends a lot of time running in the yard with her foster siblings. They play with the toys in the yard and love to run and chase each other. Kitty also attends daycare during the day where she gets to play and run all day. The staff at the daycare love her sweet personality and say that Kitty gets along great with all the dogs. Kitty is very friendly and affectionate.

Kitty seems to have a medium-high energy level. She does need toys to chew on and a good amount of exercise and mental stimulation- border collies are highly intelligent dogs!

Kitty is crate trained and is currently doing very well with her housetraining. She has two other canine friends helping her learn the ropes and she loves getting praised for doing a great job!

Forever home: We are still learning about Kitty, but a fenced yard to run in is one of the first things she would ask for if she could talk! She also wants a family that will take her to obedience training.

Kitty is highly affectionate and gives good smooches. She wants a family that will make her part of it!

Pre-Adoption Application::

To be considered for a dog, it is best to submit a pre-adoption application. The Pre-Adoption Application can be downloaded from our website - http://www.waggintailsdogrescue.org/adoptionprocess.html. Just complete the application and email it back to wtdr2008@yahoo.com.

Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $175, $275 for small breed dogs or $200 for puppies plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age. Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.

We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check
www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. With few exceptions, we show our adoptable animals on Saturdays from 12pm - 3pm at PetSmart in Northville (on Haggerty Rd between 6 and 7 mile) or PetSmart in Canton (the northwest corner of Ford Rd and Haggerty Rd). Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).

Please be kind to our volunteers who have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries will be answered much more quickly than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.

Thank you for your support of rescue and your interest in a rescue dog!
