My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hugh is a very handsome Westie (West Highland White Terrier) or Westie mix. He is a total sweetheart, ridiculously lovable and snuggly. He's fun, active and playful, but not hyper at all.
He's very well house-trained, has excellent recall off leash, crates easily and is all around very well-behaved. He's a 5 year-old neutered male with an ideal weight of about 27 lbs (he weighs 32 now but is losing steadily). He was rescued from being put to sleep due to a very treatable thyroid problem (which is why he was overweight and had such bad skin problems - see the video!). He does have skin allergies common to the Westie breed, but is completely controlled and asymptomatic on one allergy pill a day.
He is heartworm negative and otherwise perfectly healthy.
He gets along very well with other dogs. He is super-friendly with people but is a good little guard dog until he knows a stranger is welcome in the house. He will be your best friend and the most loyal, loving family member you could ask for. He is currently in Texas in a wonderful Rescue with a Veterinarian as the founder. She opened the rescue to help abandoned dogs left at her clinic's doorsteps or dumped alongside the road. He can be delivered to VA, NJ,NY, PA, MD, CT and VT. His adoption fee is 250 and transport fee is 185. We handle all the details. Contact us for an application.
