My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I need a special home!
Crabby Pants, Tortie/Tabby
5-months old as of 9/18
Spayed/Vaccinated

Yes, they call me Crabby Pants! BUT that doesn't mean I'm not loving, sweet, playful, and worthy of a good home. It means, I was born outside, I wasn't treated very nice, and then kicked out a barn my mommy put me and my brothers and sisters in to keep us safe, dry, and warm. When I lost my mommy, who is not very well and covered in fleas and stuff, it scared me because people made my mommy sick.

Luckily my foster mommy, Brandi Lynn Borgia knew I was terrified and let me hide when I was brought to her. I was afraid of the cage, and I was very worried about my brothers and sisters. At first, I thought Brandi might hurt me, so I was NOT going to let her hurt me or my litter mates. I hissed at her and I made lots of racket when she tried to pet them, or me. She didn't get mad at me, and would laugh and say, "Oh Crabby Pants! I'm not going to hurt you."

She told the truth and is the first human to ever show me love , make sure I am never hungry or thirsty, and can sleep in a nice clean & warm bed. I was very mad at her when she made me swallow a pill but would you believe after she did I felt better?

I now trust Brandi and a really nice lady named Angela, but I am still not going to let them pick me up. Not yet. I dare them to try! BUT I do like to watch them when they play with my litter mates. I'm almost ready to join in the fun but I have to be sure its safe. So far my sister Lucy and brother Angelo say it's fine; BUT they are silly kitties who are gullible, so until I'm convinced, I'll watch just in case I have to jump in and save one of them.

I heard my mommy Brandi saying that she's worried I might not be adopted because a lot of people don't understand that kitties like me won't always be afraid and that kitties like me grow into loving lap kitties. I think she's right because last night I almost jumped up on her bed, but I heard a loud noise and got scared & ran.

I do love other cats, and I've learned to tolerate her crazy dogs, even the big one, Xena. It took me time, but I just ignore her and those weird looking Poodles who wear clothes! Clothes!!? WHAT!? She better not put any clothes on me.

If you adopt me, I hope you can be patient and not feel frustrated while I'm hanging back until I feel safe and then want to get rid of me. I really want a family but it's just not as easy for me as it is for my sister Lucy to get to know new people. Just like humans, we kitties have personalities. Some of us are shy, bold, energetic, lazy and so on. Me? I'm cautious and know how to stand up for myself. I don't hand trust out with ease. I've been let down by a lot of people so I'm still trying to figure out why so many humans are mean to cats and kitties and how to know who is good and who is bad.
I hope one of you reading this picks me! Everyone else gets picked but me!
