My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I‘m Mia. I was rescued from a Pennsylvania shelter on 11/8. I hear that it was a pretty close call for me, but the nice rescue folks rushed in there and got me out just before my time was up. I have some hearing and vision issues, so my chances of getting adopted from the shelter were not very good.

I had some infections and need to take medications for my eyes, ears, and skin. My nails were in extremely bad shape with infection, but I was a good girl while the vet took care of them. I am settled in at my temporary foster home where I have two foster sisters. We are looking for a longer term foster home for me, preferably with someone that is home a lot to help me learn my surroundings.

Update 11/11/2015: Yesterday, foster daddy gave me a medicated bath. I didn‘t really like the bath, but I was such a good girl for foster daddy :-) I have been great in the house and have had no accidents. Foster mommy says that my sense of smell is amazing. When I smell my foster parents, I wake up and start wagging my tail and try to find them. I am quite cute! I am also starting to play and even climbed up on foster mommy‘s lap to give her kisses. She says I am very sweet, and I like to cuddle. I am so happy that I have nice people who are taking care of me now.

Update 12/30/2015: My vet says that I have improved dramatically. My skin and ears look great and my eyes are much more comfortable. I am chronically blind but have adjusted to my environment. I needed a dental cleaning and some extractions and had that done on 12/28. I feel much better now! I am deaf as well. The only time I respond to noise is when I am awake and it is very high pitched. I am a very good girl and like to climb up on the couch now that I know it is ok.
