My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Zoey came to us from a family with children too young for such a tiny puppy. She is ADORABLE; doing great on house training, completely crate trained, sits on command and PLAYS A LOT! In her off time she does love to snuggle. Zoey was born September 21, 2015.

Because we don't do pediatric spays, we only place puppies in Foster to Adopt homes. Here is how our program works. With an approved application and a completed home visit, Zoey will be placed in her forever home as a foster dog. The adopters will sign a foster agreement with Star-Mar and Zoey will remain in foster care but in her forever home, until she is spayed. After her spay, Zoey's adoption will be completed. Due to Zoey's continued need for vetting, she will be placed within a comfortable driving distance from Wooster, OH.

Zoey's previous owners thought that she was a Shih Tzu/Min Pin cross but honestly we don't see that at all. I would GUESS that Zoey is a Toy Spaniel/long hair Chihuahua cross. She will definitely be small. She weighs 5 pounds and was 14 weeks on Monday.

Zoey is extremely playful. She will not do well in a home where there is not a lot of activity and another playful dog. Her adoption will require a fenced yard that leads directly from a door in the home, someone who is not working away from home or works very, very part time, Zoey will continue to need a lot of stimulation and positive interaction and positive training to become a well behaved adult dog. Zoey is not suitable for a home with young children.

If you feel that your lifestyle and environment meet with Zoey's needs please contact Martha at learymjri@aol.com or call 330-466-3667 or 330-262-0515 for an application or more information. As explained above, Zoey will initially go into a foster to adopt home which will require an approved application and home visit and a signed foster agreement with Star-Mar. The adoption will be completed after Zoey is spayed. Adoption fee is $250.

PLEASE READ; If you are using a commercial, chemical flea preventative like Trifexis, or Frontline, etc., these are dangerous neurotoxins that poison the life force of your dog (his or her blood) in order to kill a flea. There are serious side effects including seizures and even death from the use of this product. It is so toxic that it is under the control of the EPA, deadly to wildlife, a toxic water pollutant, dangerous to children and pregnant women.. With over 40,000 complaints of sickness and death a year reported to the EPA from the use of these chemical flea products, we feel we can no longer put our dogs in homes who continue to use these products for flea prevention. We do not want our dogs given these products and are happy to talk with you about natural flea preventatives.
