My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Manx Cat Being Rescued

Angela found her so I left the scene I am in the parking lot hoping she can coax her into the cage we left back there. Otherwise we're going to have to use a trap. She's definitely scared. Beautiful Manx or Manx mix cat needs our help. Pray we catch him or her.

DISPOSITION: VERY FRIENDLY; timid upon first introduction to new person; after you pass her initial inspection she comes right up to you, purrs and interacts wonderfully. She welcomes petting! Adele is a very intelligent but docile cat who could easily be socialized to live with other cats, dogs and children.
Adele has been flea treated and wormed. We won't know until we can schedule a vet appointment if she is already spayed. If she isn't, she will be; and vaccinated. Spay-Neuter-Surgery appointment waits times are lengthy (4 + weeks), so we would love to find Adele a loving FOSTER2ADOPT home.

WHAT IS FOSTER2ADOPT?
It’s of the utmost importance that cats and kittens are spayed and neutered prior to adoption. However, due to the long wait times for Spay-Neuter-Surgeries; and Kitty Cat Adoptions not being a funded rescue shelter or organization with very limited foster homes, and only ONE LARGE CAGE in a garage; KCA Adoptions are handled differently than they are at other Rescues. However, the FOSTER2ADOPT Program is very successful and allows for more displaced, abused, and neglected cats to be rescued.

WHY IS KITTY CAT ADOPTION’S FOSTER2ADOPT PROGRAM SUCCESSFUL?

There is more than one answer to that. Cats are very territorial, and aren’t big on change! Cats don’t easily adapt to new environments. Cats who quickly or immediately adapt to a new environment and new people are more of the exception then the rule. A great number of cats will hide after moving into a new place. How long they hide depends on individual cat’s personalities, what happened to them before rescue, and their level of socialization. Cats are also careful creatures whose trust isn’t easily earned. Cats that came from abuse, neglect, abandonment, were once feral, and or are under-socialized and are fearful and distrustful and often hide and take longer to trust new people, and situations.
Cats are social animals so it’s almost guaranteed that with patience, love, and kindness; newly adopted OR foster cats will come to be fiercely loyal and will emotionally attach to their new ‘foster or forever families’ once they trust them. Cats and kittens don’t understand that a foster home isn’t a forever home, and the longer they live with a foster family, the harder it is on them when they are adopted into forever families. With that in mind; Kitty Cat Adoptions ALWAYS TRIES TO GET OUR CATS LIVING WITH THEIR FOREVER FAMILIES AS SOON AS POSSIBLE to avoid them feeling abandoned yet again…

Spayed-Neutered Cats (and dogs) are a MUST and due to it taking at least 4-weeks to schedule spay/neuter/vaccinations; Kitty Cat Adoptions doesn’t want rescued cats and kittens attaching to foster homes and caretakers if it’s possible for them to live with the people interested in adopting them keeping until their surgery dates. Finalizing adoptions on the same day of surgery ensures cats and kittens rescued by Kitty Cat Adoptions are altered, and exposed to the least amount of emotional trauma as possible.
