My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Winston: 5 yr; Sex: Male; Activity Level: Companion/Active Companion; B/W Smooth Short Haired Coat; Border Collie/Aussie; Weight 30 lbs. How fantastic is life when you find that right partner who loves to take walks, play with toys inside while your cooking or working from home who loves dogs and kitties!? Well that’s our boy Winston young at heart and soul of an angel. His past remains somewhat of a mystery and Winston would appreciate that as well as he is flourishing from when life was good as a young pup turning into an adult. Winston does best in an apartment/condo setting and he does enjoy his balcony time His foster mom and I feel he will do best with either a young retried person/couple, someone that works from home, a couple or 2 roommates who have either another confident/playful companion dog similar in size, 30 lbs medium size dog, or kitties that love to play with dogs. He doesn’t need or want a yard he loves his leash time and rolling around on the grass on walks playing with the ball/toys inside. What we do know is that Winston was a lost soul loose in Alief Houston just darting between a few streets wondering what happened to him and where did his people go. It took a team of kind Samaritans one month to earn his trust and follow them into a large fenced area so he could be rescued! Yes trust for Winston is HUGE, and it does take him a little time to warm up. All of his fear behaviors (jumping back, lowering to the ground, darting to offset the humans next move) he has turned into positive fun playful pawz with eye contact and he sniffs to understand, of course we give him time and room to learn about new people. He is house trained, enjoys car rides and snuggles, does great on a leash, can settle in for a few longer work days but other days he may need a walk in between, fully vaccinated/neutered and micro chipped. ***We are looking for a centrally located to Houston adopter, easy enough for us to drive for a final home visit if it’s a match as we must see this dog in his potential environment*** Winston’s adoption donation is $250, application to fill out/please share with us how Winston would fit in your life and there is a home visit if we feel a strong match.
