Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Bruce is under a year and a half and about 70 pounds. He's neutered, chipped, has his shots and is in great health. He's loving happy and very playful! Someone who likes to exercise will be a good partner for Bruce. Make sure to watch the video of him playing with dogs twice his size! It's adorable and amazing especially after being cooped up in solitary confinement for four months at the animal shelter. Don't miss it!! Here's his story.
A friend called me at 2 am who was being chased by this pit bull. He was walking a female that hadn't been fixed yet since I had just rescued her. I got out of bed, raced over and caught him using the unaltered female as bait to slip the leash over his head. I had to take him to the shelter. It was 2 am and legally that's what all of us have to do. I dropped him off and promised I would be back if his owner didn't come. Well no one came for him and no one offered or was able to foster him for me. So he sat there in the shelter for 4 months. I've been devastated. I kept in touch with the shelter. I visited him a few times. Last week the shelter called me and said his time was up. He was now on the euthanasia list because no one was interested in him and he had become severely depressed and very skinny. The shelter is not equipped to train dogs and so they deemed him hyper and aggressive with other dogs. They always say this when they are scared and unprepared! My heart broke. I will NEVER drop off a dog and let them die in a pound. But I can't do this alone and no one was helping. Well after this last call from the shelter, I called two close rescue friends I know I can rely on in an emergency and just gave them no choice but to help me help him. One donated enough money to make this happen, and the other, Kyle Schwab, a fellow rescuer, is training him! He's now having a blast playing with the female dogs at Kyles training camp. It's what he was missing so much at the shelter. Now all he needs is a forever home. Saving Bruce's life brought me more happiness than I have felt in months. Reminded me what life's about. Walking him out of that shelter, we both felt free at that moment. Im grateful to my rescue friends who made this possible for us. He's a great dog. He's got a good foundation. He loves kisses and cuddles he already sits and lays down. If you want to donate to the cause, go to www.YouCaring.com/FreeLove. Please email us for an application. His adoption fee is $300
