This adorable little muffin was suriprisingly found wandering the dirt roads down a beaten path all alone when someone found him. They took him to their local vet in the area to see if he was chipped, or if they recognized him but unfortunately no one claimed this sweet guy. He came in dirty, completely covered in yeast, his eyes were cherry'd and needed surgery, and he was not neutered. His finders were on their way to the shelter when they remembered us and contacted for help. That's when Bruno became a member of K&M Canines Rescue!
Bruno has since had surgery to correct both eyes, and is doing wonderful. He is a little older dog, and due to his negligence has lost a little vision in his right eye and has cataracts beginning but it definitely doesn't slow this little turkey down! As you can see he is still perfectly able and willing to run, play, hop and skip around! He enjoys the outdoors and is always ready for an adventure. Bruno is your typical bulldog, he has attitude, he has a voice, and he can be a little pushy and bossy at times but overall he is a stellar representation of his breed! He gets along wonderfully with other dogs, even when they aren't interested in him. Since he's a bulldog his face has to be flush against you or another dog to take in all the smells when you first meet! If the other dogs start to ignore him he will chase them around and almost bully them into playing with him, he's just a guy who wants to have fun! He gets along well with cats and seems to leave them well enough alone. Our cats think their dogs, so he seems to enjoy their company when they are all over him. With people, he is absoltuely perfect. He LOVES people, and enjoys meeting everyone he can! If your not his friend and in his phone book then he will seek you out until you are! His sight being limited means you need to speak to him when coming to touch so he doesn't flinch as sometimes he can't see you coming so quickly.
Being the bulldog that he is, Bruno will need to be kept on a special diet to keep him healthy and happy. When he came to us he was covered all over in yeast. Now, he's healthy and all his hair has grown back in! His food MUST contain the protein Fish, he does not do well with a kibble diet so we have found that his perfect food is Honest Kitchen: Zeal formula, which is the ocean fish recipe. If his diet is not kept specifically to what he needs, he could have consistency issues in his stools, and will begin to have poor skin once more.
Bruno is great indoors, and his favorite thing to do is load up on the couch next to you for snuggle time. He LOVES to get belly rubs, and enjoys sliming everything he touches with his cute floppy jowls! He is housebroken, crate trained, leash trained, and knows some of his basics like sit and stay. Bruno will need a home with someone who is familiar with his breed and is able to afford the medical care he will require later on in life, as most Bulldog's do.
