My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you are looking for a little love to cuddle with, Scotty is your man. He is the ultimate velcro dog and wants nothing more than to be snuggling with his person. He is super friendly, playful and energetic. Scotty was surrendered by an owner who apparently was at the least, neglectful. He came in with horribe tarter on his teeth and extremely thin - on the verge of being malnourished. He came in weighing 12 pounds but would probably be better off around 18 lbs. He gobbles up his dinners which tells me he wasn't used to getting fed regularly. And whatever he was eating did a nasty number on his mouth. But that's all behind him because he saw the vet where he had a dental, was neutered, vaccinated and got his microchip. He is in the process of being dewormed as a precaution. I thought he was an older dog after checking the condition of his teeth but after their cleaning, this guy is a young pup (maybe around a year old). He certainly has the energy of a pup and likes to play fetch in the yard (however he doesn't ALWAYS come back to give you the ball). Scotty loves to be held and is always ready with some kisses. The only con is that we are working on some housebreaking issues but he is starting to get better in that department - tho not 100% there. He has bonded VERY tightly with me as the person who "saved" him so this is going to be an extremely difficult one to let go. Whomever does adopt him will need to understand that Scotty will need a longer transition period than most. When we sit together watching TV, I can feel the love oozing out of his little body. He will sit there and just stare up at my face the whole time. It's as if he is thanking me for giving him a safe and comfortable place to live. We are looking for a very special home for this guy. He and I have grown very close so I only want the very best for him. Why don't I just keep him you may ask. Believe me, I would love to but my home is only for the dog we take in that turn out to be unadoptable for one reason or another. Those that come in with medical conditions or behavioral issues that can't be overcome live out their life with me. It would be a disservice to keep such a highly adoptable and utterly engaging creature among my band of misfits. Anyone who has adopted from me knows how much I love ALL my dogs. But every so often one comes along that truly grabs a piece of my heart - and never lets it go. Scotty is one of those treasures. There will be tears when I have to leave him in the arms of his new family. But you can be rest assured that you are adopting a real gem if you decide to take this guy into your home and heart.
