My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Updated bio 7/22/15 Ginny is a very nice, sweet 5 year old Yorkie mix. Maybe a Shih Tzu/Yorkie—a Shorkie! She weighs 13.4 pounds. Ginny is being fostered in St. Augustine, FL. Her adoption fee is $325 and includes all vetting (neuter, dental cleaning, immunizations, microchip and chip registration). A Vet reference, personal references, and home visit are required for adoption. You may apply to adopt Ginny by going to our website at www.unitedyorkierescue.org and completing the adoption application located on our home page.

Hi
, my name is Ginny. Here is a little about my story. I was all alone on the streets and a nice family found me and took me in. They tried very hard to find my family but no one came for me. Then they called United Yorkie Rescue and here I am. I am not a 100 percent Yorkie, maybe a little, but mostly I think I am an adorable Shih Tzu. My foster mom said Ginny is a good name for me, but she says I look just like Yoda, whoever that is, and then she laughs every time she says that. Right now my new foster family is learning about me each day.

So far I have been to see the nice vet, Dr. Norma. She said I am in mostly good health. They weighed me and I am 13.4 pounds and they think I am 5 years old. Also I found out that I don’t have yucky heartworms or any other kind of worms. Thank goodness. My foster mom was very happy to hear that!!! I like the other doggies in the house here and even the cat is okay with me. Now my very nice foster mommy wants to tell you a little more about me.

Ginny is a very sweet, good girl. She is spayed and up to date on her shots. She does have some skin issues that we will be addressing in the near future. The vet did a skin scraping and the results will be back in about another week. She doesn’t have much hair on her back, but there is some peach fuzz. We are hoping with proper care and maybe medication her hair will come back.

So far we have learned that Ginny is a very good eater. She is good in the car and good on her walks. She knows some manners. She likes her tummy rubbed, and loves to sit with her foster daddy. Ginny is missing her bottom two front teeth. Otherwise her teeth are in good condition.

Ginny did not know about treats or how to play, but she is learning. It will take her some time to know it is okay to play and to get treats. She is a good, calm, sweet little girl. Ginny gets along with the other foster dogs and she even likes the cat.

More will be coming about Ginny as we continue to get to know her better and know more about her skin condition.
