My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Seth; he is an Umbrella Cockatoo, presumed to be male and estimated to be approximately 30 years old. Prior to coming to rescue, Seth had been bounced around to at least 4 different homes and has had 4 different owners. He is a very sweet, loveable bird who loves to cuddle, and who has a quirky little personality, but he is extremely needy and constantly demands attention. He loves being out of his cage and prefers to be around where he can be interacted with; he does not like being left alone. He talks and will say "hi Seth, I love you, will call for mama, ask for crackers, and now says hi max." Seth did come in with a bare plucked chest that is due largely to stress and environmental factors. It appears as though most of his follicles on his chest are damaged so there is a good chance that he may never be a fully feathered bird again. He tends to be male preferential, but will tolerate women. He does not do well with other birds, and I would not recommend him for children. His ideal home however would be with a male owner; and possibly someone who works from home or is retired who has all the time in the world to spend with him. Seth is loud, can be destructive, and does bite. He would need an experienced adopter and someone who Is familiar with the breed and their needs.
