My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

TAFFY is the perfect black cat... except for that little white tip on her tail! We often find her perched on the highest spot she can find to keep an eye on the goings on in the room. She's SOOO curious and wants to know what you're up to. Did someone say shoelaces? Hoodie string? TAFFY is all over it! She'll never let you down with her antics. In other words, she's the perfect pick-me-up. As she gets to know you she likes to follow you and watch from a nearby ledge, but from afar, until you're real friends. She's the perfect home supervisor. If you're good friends, she might even let you give her gentle pats. She was born in 2016.

TAFFY is shy with new people and hides when potential adopters visit. For this reason, she's never gotten a chance at a forever home. We don't know that she'll ever be a snuggler, but she would still be an entertaining companion. We think she would do best in a home with no young children, due to her shyness, and she’ll need a patient and thoughtful introduction to your home.

ARF volunteers are happy to talk to you about the personality of shy cats and can even share videos of affectionate behavior you won't see when you visit. We know shy cats don’t show well to potential adopters, but they still have so much love to give and when you become their person there’s nothing quite like that special bond you form.

More about this shelter

Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) is a 100% volunteer, non-profit, no-kill shelter for dogs and cats. We are funded entirely by private donations, fundraising efforts by volunteers and adoption fees.

ARF is always looking for new animal lovers to join us. We need caring people who are interested in devoting some time and effort to helping needy animals. Just a few hours a week can make a difference in the life of an animal. When you give animals the gift of your time, you'll get back as much as you give—maybe even more.
