My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

9-19-16 Meet Abby. She is a very sweet, 10 pound, 11-year-old adorable Shorkie, a Yorkie /Shih Tzu mix. Abby is a princess who needs one last forever home. Abby is being fostered in St. Augustine, FL. Abby's adoption fee is $125 and includes all vetting (neuter/spay, dental cleaning, immunizations, microchip and chip registration). A Vet reference, personal references, and home visit are required for adoption. You may apply to adopt Abby by going to our website at www.unitedyorkierescue.org and completing the adoption application located on our home page. Abby has been in her foster home for a few days now. She is doing very well with all the other dogs that are there including Ty the cat. She is still a little confused about what has happened to her. She wants to know-- why am I here and not with my mommy, my home, and what happened? Abby doesn't understand that her mommy passed away and won't be coming back. It will take time for all of this to sink in. She would very much love someone to become her forever mommy again. Abby seems to enjoy being able to go outside often, and she loves the fenced yard. She enjoys lying on the backyard deck sunning herself. Abby does have minor cataracts, but she sees just fine. She is on some meds for her kidneys. No, she does not have kidney disease; just kidneys that need a little help to stay young and healthy. Remember she is 11 year old. Abby's last family took very good care of her. Her meds are cheap and two of the three are over the counter. Abby is a little stiff when she first gets up from her nap and after along nights sleep, just like many of us. However, once she is up for a minute or two she is just fine. A little glucosamine can help that. Abby likes to eat and loves her treats... She is a nice, calm dog who needs a new mommy. Could that be you!! Don't let Abby's age scare you, she has many good years left in her life and all she asks is to be loved, cared for, and cuddled whenever possible.
