Peanut's Story...
Peanut is a 4 month old male Chihuahua. Peanut is a puppy with plenty of energy! He is getting along great with the dogs and cats in his foster home especially if they like to play. He loves people too and will settle into a cozy lap when he is tired. He is adorable and does not seem to be afraid of anything. His excitement for life will make you smile for sure. Because of his small size he would not do well in a home with small children. Peanut is working on his house skill but since he is a puppy he has plenty to learn. If you have the time, energy are committed to raising a puppy right he might be the one for you. He will be available after Thanksgiving, however, please apply online to get started!

We recommend and encourage you to complete an application at before coming to our next adoption event. To find out if I will be attending our next adoption event, please email

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Peanut, a Richmond Chihuahua puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Chihuahua puppy from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
