My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PLEASE READ THIS DESCRIPTION IN ITS ENTIRETY. $150.00 adoption fee. Hercules was rescued from euthanasia from a rural kill facility in Bradford County. He was out on his own for at least 2 weeks before an animal control officer was able to catch him with a humane trap and bring him to animal control. He is estimated to be about 3 years old and he is only about 8 pounds. He was very fearful and ill when we rescued him, but he has learned to trust and love his foster Mom and is learning to trust his foster Dad. He is still fearful of men and we are searching for a forever home for him with experienced and patient adopters. We believe that he was likely abused by a man at some point in his life due to his slow, but steady progress with learning how to trust his foster Dad. He absolutely loves his 3 small foster pup siblings and we will require that his forever home have a securely fenced in yard for him to run and play in and at least one doggy sibling to play with. That is not negotiable! We will also not adopt him to a home where he has access to a doggie door as he is a runner. He is crate trained and is doing well with leash training. He is housebroken, however, he still has a tendency to want to "mark" his territory and he will need to be watched if not kenneled. He gets along fine with his feline siblings and wants to play with them when he gets the chance. He has not been tested around children and we will not adopt him to anyone with small children. He is fully vetted, microchipped and current on flea and heartworm preventative. We require a home visit, application and veterinarian reference prior to adoption. Hercules is sweet, playful and energetic! Adopt Hercules!
