MUSHR is asked to take in dogs from a variety of sources, including humane societies, animal controls, other rescues and from owners wishing to surrender their dog.
MUSHR dogs have all been evaluated for temperament, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, Heartworm tested, and micro-chipped. They are also given any other medical attention they may need, such as orthopedic surgeries, Heartworm treatment and emergency care.
MUSHR is not a shelter; it is a foster based rescue. Our goal of placing dogs is accomplished through the hard work of dedicated volunteers. The volunteers foster unwanted Siberian huskies in their homes until the dog gets placed into the adoptive home.
MUSHR volunteers have extensive knowledge of not only Siberian huskies, but also general pet care. Our volunteers come from a wide range of backgrounds including dog trainers, veterinary technicians and animal lovers.
