Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Joey is currently living in a foster home in Mount Horeb, Wisconsin.
Joey has had some hard luck, and we want to turn that around for him -> forever!
He first came to the attention of a Houston rescue partner when he was living alone outside. His people were making sure he had food, water and shelter, but never let him in the house. Joey was really lonely. At around a year old the rescue asked if they could help re-home Joey and he did wonderfully in his Houston and Wisconsin foster homes with older kids and dogs and toys and lots of attention. He eats up attention!
Joey was adopted and it was not a good for for him, so he bounced back into rescue a second time. He came back feeling pretty sad and wanting to please everyone he met. Joey is more mature now and very obedient and sensitive. He still absolutely loves to play with other dogs and has no greater desire than to make his people happy with him. Joey is a larger breed fellow and will need exercise and play time with other dogs. He has a very soft hair coat and silky ears, and gets chilly outside in the Wisconsin winter. Joey loves to have someone pet him and gives great kisses! He is a perfect gentleman in the house, and is a bit of a couch potato.
Joey would absolutely love a fenced yard and a dog friend to socialize with. He is very social! Joey would do best in a home with older kids and owners who can use positive reinforcement to re-build his self confidence.
Joey has a huge willing heart ready to please ... and is just a beautiful, friendly, obedient loving guy. An all around awesome companion.
Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a home visit and a meet and greet. Please note that preference is given to adopters in Wisconsin, but out of state adoptions will be considered. Adoption fee is $250.
