My story

Hi my name is Josie and I am considered a SUN Cat because I was born outside semi-feral and remain a little skittish. There was a nice lady who cared for me, had me fixed and gave me shelter in her garage and fed me every day! One day she didn't come or the next, I don't know what happened :0( Her family came to settle an estate and said they couldn't care for me and off to the shelter I went. A cat like me doesn't fare well in that type of environment. This is when it gets interesting, apparently the crazy cat lady saw me on the Facebook and decided I was worth a try, everyone thought I was a boy lol but turned out to be a girl, went from Josh to Josie! The crazy lady is nice she pets me and I purr and roll around she tells me I'm a good girl :0) problem is I get stressed out and anxiety kicks in and I don't show well to strangers :0( I will do great in a home but need to go at my own pace, just a little slower than most, after all what's the rush we have forever, right?

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

You will be asked to fill out an adoption application and generally a telephone interview will follow. Next, a home visit will be performed to help "ready" your home for the new cat(s).

Supposedly Unadoptable Cats are special and we require adopters for this particular group of cats to be experienced cat people.

While we hope that the commitment you make will be life long, all cats adopted out through this initiative will be returnable for the life of the cat.

Please visit our website for details about our adoption process:

Conner's Cause is sponsored by Give Me Shelter Project, Inc. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit animal rescue, education and advocacy organization. You can learn more about Give Me Shelter Project by visiting our website:

Conner’s Cause is an initiative that Give Me Shelter Project has launched to try to find loving forever homes for the Supposedly Unadoptable Cats that currently reside in animal shelters and with rescue groups.

Our organization has generally defined "supposedly unadoptable cats" as those who range in temperament from semi-friendly to semi-feral. For the purposes of this initiative, we have broadened our definition of “supposedly unadoptable cats” to include other categories of cats that are difficult to place in adoptive homes. These include: seniors, handicapped, FIV+, FeLV+, cats with treatable and untreatable illnesses.

We invite you to consider adopting a "Supposedly Unadoptable Cat". Please join “Conner’s Cause” and BRING HOME THE MAGIC!
