This dog is being fostered in Dallas TX and must be adopted within the Dallas, North Central Texas or the southern Oklahoma area.
NAME: Ruby
GENDER: Female (Spayed)

Meet adorable Ruby. Ruby is a little gem, hence her name.
Ruby is a beautiful tri-color (black, tan, and white) little Chihuahua. She is about 1 year old and has so much energy. Ruby loves to play, play, play. She plays with her 4 legged sibling. She plays with toys. She bounces around her foster home with a happy-go-lucky love for life. Then she crashes for a nap! Her foster family says this is the most joyful dog they have ever fostered! Ruby would love an active home to grow up in.
Ruby also loves to play in the back yard. She enjoys exploring, and is constantly looking for a squirrel to chase or a new adventure to initiate. Note that due to her squirrel chasing, we are not sure she would get along with cats! Also, this little girl likes to dig. So we will want to make sure your fence has extra protection around the bottom. She is not really trying to escape. She is just trying to explore!
Ruby is a bit apprehensive when meeting new people, but as soon as she gets comfortable around you, she is your best friend. Ruby loves to be on your lap or snuggling right next to you. She is quite the lover, and will give you kisses to let you know how much she adores you. And she enjoys belly rubs!
Ruby is also super smart. She is already potty trained. She also know how to sit on command and knows what "go to bed" means. We think that she will pick up other commands quickly if you will work with her. She is learning to walk on a leash. She enjoys sleeping in her doggie bed at night, but also loves to cuddle under the covers and would love to sleep with you at night.
Ruby would love to be in a home with other dogs, but would be fine as an only pet as long as there is plenty of attention and activity. She would do fine with children, but may need to be around older children (10 and older) due to her shy nature when she first meets you. We are hoping she grows out of that as she gets older and feels safe.

Ruby is spayed, micro chipped, up-to-date on shots, HW negative. and on heartworm prevention. She is ready to join a loving family - could that family be yours?
