My story

***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the adoption application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org***

Wendal has been with us since he was a kitten in 2016.  His sister Wendy was adopted but because Wendal comes off as shy at first he just hasn't been chosen.  However, to the volunteers he sees on a regular basis he is very charming and charismatic and is always one of them in the group that is 'helping to scoop litter boxes' as their rouse to get some pets and scratches.  Wendal would do fine in a home with other calm cats as he gets along well with the other cats in his room, & is happy just chillin in a window, on a shelf, or out on the catio. He'd be good as an only cat or with a calm kitty companion (or two or more) All of our cats are spayed/neutered, FeLV/FIV negative (unless noted), microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. Our adoption fee for cats is free will to approved applicants.**

Additional adoption info

All interested parties must fill out an adoption application and be approved prior to adoption. If a family has currently, or in the recent past had pets then a veterinary reference is required. If not then two personal references are required. Our adoption fees for dogs range from $150-$300. Our adoption fee for cats is free will donation. After an adoption has been approved an adoption contract must be signed.

Go meet their pets

Check out all of our pets online at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org or send in an application to meet a specific pet! Once our shelter is open for operation stop in during our open hours to visit with a fuzzy friend in person.

More about this shelter

The ECAS is an all volunteer, no kill shelter. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome pets in need due to neglect, abandonment, abuse or from simply not being wanted! We started in 2010 due to a need in our community. We are currently a foster based organization and we are currently building our new shelter facility. We work hand in hand with other rescue and shelters in the area to help out when and where we are needed.
