My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi ya. So happy you’ve found my page! I’m Travis Harris and it’s great to meet you. I’m looking for a new family to call my own! Could it be you?

Here’s my stats:
Possible Breed: Shih Tzu and something else, probably!
Gender: I’m a boy through and through
Colors: White with a little light brown
Age: I’m about 5 years old
Weight: about 21 pounds
My Perfect home: I am so great, that there just isn’t room for any other animals. Actually, I just prefer to be your one-and-only!

Now for the good stuff!-
So, I’m a pretty laid back boy who loves toys. I often have one in my mouth. My favorite kind? The squeaky ones! I’m fairly independent but I have this cute thing I do where I ‘bump’ my foster mom when I want her attention. That’s when I get something I really love-a body rub! I like to ride in a car but I’m not a fan of being in a crate. I’ll do it, but I’d rather not. I’m not on any medications and I don’t currently have any medical conditions. So true confession time. Because my previous ‘family’ wasn’t kind, I do have some fears. When I am afraid, I’ll growl to let you know that I’m out of my comfort zone. And two things that really make me afraid are visits to the vet and the groomer. But there are pills to make me relaxed for those times.

My foster mom says, ‘Travis is so cute when he goes around the house looking for just the right toy to take on walks. He almost always walks with a toy in his mouth! He’s one of a kind.”

So, if you can provide me with a home where I am the only animal and you can understand my fears, I’d be just a great companion for you, right? To start the process of adopting me or one of the other pups by filling out the application found at www.shihtzu-rescue.com.

PS. I've had ALL my vetting, and oh boy, it was a lot. Here's what I had done:
Distemper/Parvo shots – TWICE. One shot doesn't cut it.
Bordetella shots - ALSO TWICE.
Spay/Neuter-of course.
A fecal exam so I don't have any bad worms. Treatment if I do.
A heartworm test. Treatment if I am positive for heart worms
BLOODWORK to make sure my liver and kidneys are working well, because you know, we doggies often have issues in the liver and kidneys.
A DENTAL exam AND cleaning if I needed it- yep, all my toofies are checked out.
See, that's a LOT. Ask your vet - that's a LOT.
