My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Duke's DNA is the following--37.5% Irish Wolfhound, 25% Borzoi, 12.5% Scottish Deerhound, 12.5% Greyhound, and 12.5% mixed breed. He weighs 99.5 pounds. We think he might gain up to 5 pounds whenever he moves into a home. He has a personality that fits an Irish Wolfhound--he seems protective and really needs a person or family to bond with. He's great on the leash. He might be okay to live with another dog that is at least 40 pounds. He would not be suited to a home with cats or smaller dogs. We think he would be fine with children of most ages. He needs a sturdy and tall fence. He cannot be off-leash in an unenclosed area. Duke is 100% love--he's the sweetest and most lovable dog we have met in awhile.

Please contact us to adopt Duke. We will consider all applicants--but our resources are limited--that said, in all likelihood if you live a long distance from Lubbock--we just can't meet your needs. Out-of-area adopters need extra scrutiny and there is the transportation issue to consider. We have volunteers in the following cities--Lubbock, Midland/Odessa, Abilene, TX, El Paso, Clovis, NM, Albuquerque, and Santa Fe, NM--it is easier for us to work in those cities.
