My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tucker is a purebred, 2 year old, Mahogany Sable and White, male collie. He weighs 60 lbs, is neutered, fully vaccinated, and micro-chipped. Tucker gets along well with other dogs, but he is playful and some dogs might get upset with him when he pesters them too much to play. He is non-aggressive towards other dogs.

He is ok with cats in the house, but is very interested in them. He will chase them outside if they run, but does not hurt them at all. He also will chase the live-stock at his foster home, but is easily called off. Tucker is ok with children and does not jump up on people. He is very sweet and loving. He likes to go in the car, and rides very well...no car sickness.

Tucker has learned some basic obedience in his foster home. He will need to continue his training in dog obedience classes. He will be very easy to train, and will easily bond to his new family. He is very good and quiet in the house. He does not chew or destroy things. He is potty trained and is learning not to counter surf in his foster home.

Tucker loves to run like the wind. He would like a home with space to run, or access to an area that he can be taken where he can run every day. He would like a young playful companion dog his own size that won't mind his rough manor of play. Probably a home with no cats, or cats that are familiar with dogs and are not fearful of them. He would like a home with active people that have plenty of time to spend with this wonderful dog, and who will take him on family outings and trips. He is the type of dog that can go everywhere with his people. He might also do well as an agility dog, or a herding dog. He would love to go jogging, hiking, or any number of active lifestyle type activities. New 10.12.08.
If you think you have the kind of home that Tucker would love to be a part of, please contact karen@calcollierescue.org or call 209-836-9235.
