Here's what the humans have to say about me:
4/14/2017: DIXIE HAS BEEN ADOPTED! Dixie is a German Shepherd mix but looks just like a German shepherd. She is approximately 10 months old and is a little beauty. She was surrendered to the rescue because she kept getting out of her family's yard (which was not fenced)and would go next door to the neighbor's house to chase their goats. For this reason, we do not recommend a home with livestock (at least smaller livestock). She may just enjoy the thrill of the chase and playing tag but she may also have a high prey drive. She does get along with other dogs but cats are unknown. If this girl does have a high prey drive, cats who run would not be recommended. We were told that she has a great deal of energy and as a working breed and a larger, young dog, this is probably true so we would recommend a home that is active or that has a large fenced yard that she can play in. This girl would benefit from energy draining activities such as runs/walks/hikes/etc. We were told that Dixie is crate and housebroken although we do not ever guarantee either. She does walk well on a leash. Dixie is a sweet pup who just needs a loving home. If interested in Dixie, please email your adoption application and interest or call is @(352)493-1255 to set up a meet and greet or to learn more about her. Her adoption fee will be $200 & will help to cover her spay and cost of care while with us. She should be ready to join her new family in mid-April but we would like to have a home lined up if possible so once she is spayed, she can start on her journey to a new life
