My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tebow came into rescue with his brother, Brady. The boys showed up in a lady's yard after Hurricane Idalia came thru our area. She created a post and had them scanned to try to find their people but to no avail. She couldn't keep them long term so she asked us to take them. We did but figured that they had been spooked by the storm or the storm had caused some property damage, allowing them to escape and someone was looking for them. We also attempted to find their owner but had no luck either. After a month, we got them vetted and are now searching for new families for these handsome boys. They are, we believe, quite young (around 7 months but quite certainly under a year). They look to be shepherd mixes but have a strong shepherd appearance. They are both very sweet and friendly. Tebow is the more confident of the two. He tends to be the first one ready to go, the "leader". He would benefit from getting out and socializing and experiencing new things. Since the boys are young, they should adapt to most family situations. They seem to be good with kids and other dogs (proper introductions are always important though). We don't know about cats and other critters as we don't have them to test them with. We are fairly certain that they will need some training in the house and learning good manners. Tebow walks really well on the leash. He would probably benefit from a harness just for comfort but he also does well on leash with a collar. We really have no idea what happened to them during that storm or what their life was like before they made their way to us but we hope that they find the safety, security and love of a forever home and family so that they can only continue to grow and become the perfect companion dogs they have the potential to be. Both boys will make wonderful additions to the family.
Tebow saw the vet on 10/18/23. He had a skin infection noted on his exam and is on cefpodoxime proxetil to treat. He tested negative for heartworms and was negative for erlichia also. He has been started on Simparica Trio for monthly heartworm prevention/flea control. He did test positive for hookworms, whipworms, roundworms and coccidia on his fecal. We have never had a dog test positive for every intestinal parasite (except for tapeworms and its possible he has those too but they didnt show up on his fecal)We treated him with Drontal for the hooks, rounds, whips (and tapes as a precaution) and with toltrazuril for the coccidia. Overall, his general health is good and issues that he does have are minor and/or easily treatable. Tebow weighed 51.7 pounds as of 10/18/23.
If interested in giving Tebow his forever home, please submit your interest and your adoption application via email or text ONLY to 352-215-3260 (phone calls will not be answered or returned from this number). Tebow's adoption fee will be $175 to help cover the cost of his vetting and daily care while with us. We will only consider applicants who complete the adoption application and will determine whether the applicant would be a good fit for Tebow based on the info provided in the application. If we feel that you will be a good match for him, we will set up a meet and greet appointment with you.

More about this rescue

We are a small rescue started in September 2004. To date, we have adopted out over 1,000 dogs and cats who may not have had a second chance. We rescue the majority of our pets from kill shelters and have them thoroughly vetted prior to going to their new homes. All of our pets are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, heartworm checked(dogs) and dewormed. We also microchip our dogs so that they can always find their way home. Big and small, we work to rehome them all. We are always in need of donations so if you can help us to help our pets, please contact us! The more people who get involved, the more pets that we can save! You can also see our pets and/or fill out our adoption application on www.petfinder.com. We look forward to hearing from you and making that "forever match"!
