Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Nelson (nicknamed “Nelly”) is a 7 month old Chihuahua/Doxie mix pup; also known as a Chiweenie. He was born on October 7, 2016. He was found as a stray and brought to the local impound before he came to a Steele County Humane Society foster home. Nelson is a very small dog and weighs only about 5 pounds. He is mostly potty trained and generally has been going potty outside. He has had a few accidents in the home, but only if he gets too cold outside. Indoor potty pad training is a work in progress. Nelson can be a little shy at first, but he warms up very quickly! His favorite things to do are to cuddle with his people and play with squeaky tennis balls! Nelson is very playful and seems to do well with other dogs (as long as they don’t steal his squeaky tennis balls!) Nelson is looking for a forever home where he will get the love and attention he needs. He would do best in a home where people are with him a majority of the time as he hates being left alone. He does well in a crate when he knows someone is still around, but he does have some separation anxiety when left alone in his crate (cries, digs, & scratches). Nelson has been microchipped, neutered, is up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, and tested negative for heartworm. If you would like more information and to meet Nelson, please contact his foster home (Amanda) at 218-290-7289 or the Steele County Humane Society at 507-451-4512. His adoption fee is $200.
