My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Luvie. We were contacted by the Riverside Shelter asking if we had room for a poor little female Boston who was brought in as a stray. Poor Luvie was still dripping milk from her last liter of puppies. Her mouth was full of teeth that were needing to be pulled. All in a little girl who was probably no older than 4 or 5. As is often the case in a dog that was obviously used by a back yard breeder to do nothing more than bring in money, little Luvie is lacking in trust, and needs to warm up to new people very slowly. But in the few weeks she has been in foster care she is growing by leaps in bounds in the socializing department.
Luvie is a 4 to 5-year-old female Boston and her name says it all. She is definitely a “Velcro” dog and would rather be at the side of her Foster Mother cuddling and snuggling, than playing with the other dogs or teenage children. She would enjoy a home where a person works from home or is able to take her to work and she is the only pet. Luvie has no known health issues. She recently had two hernias removed and is currently being treated for an ear infection.
Luvie is current on all her shots, has now been spayed and micro-chipped. She is not crate trained nor does she know who to walk on a leash, but we are currently working on walking on a leash. We are also working on the sit command and “no”. We love going to the dog park several times a week and meeting many other dogs. She loves to snuggle up to her Foster Mom and can never get close enough to her. You can hear the sounds of trust and comfort as she sleeps. (She does snore loudly.) She now knows how to use a doggie door, though we still have a few accidents. She is very protective of her owner and her home.
My cats are currently outside, so I am unaware if she gets along with cats. I know when they come to my front door she barks at them. I have two other dogs, she gets along with them, but is not really intersted in playing with them, and would rather snuggle with a human. My two children are boys who are 14 and 10 and she barks at them a lot, but will let them pet her and hold her.
