Mabel's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, purebred, a special needs pet, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Mabel's Story...
Mabel is a bashful McNab Border Collie. Abandoned on the eastside of Bakersfield as an approximately 8-10 week old pup then owner surrendered at 16 weeks because she was ill, Mabel has taken some time to trust. When she arrived at our rescue Mabel was terrified, the slightest touch would cause her to eliminate on herself. With the help of our other available pups we were finally able to reach this girl. She's now approximately 8 months old and ready to meet new people.

Mabel is great with other dogs, children and livestock. She's looking for a home that will take the time to earn her trust as well. Slow and steady wins the race with this beautiful Mcnab.

**Pets will not be shipped nor transported to adopter. Applications are accepted and reviewed on a first come first serve basis. Meet and Greets are scheduled when an application has been approved. If the meet and greet is successful then the required adoption fee is paid in full ($150), cash only, and the adoption contract is signed. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY**

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mabel, a Bakersfield Border Collie puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Bakersfield, or seeking a Border Collie puppy from a breeder in Bakersfield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bakersfield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bakersfield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bakersfield paves the way for another one to be saved.
