Sophie's Info...

I am already spayed, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Sophie's Story...
This cute girl is Sophie, and she is a Shepherd mix. She was born 9/8/08. Sophie will probably be around 45-50 pounds when fully grown. Both Sophie and her brother, Lance, are active and smart. They are learning some training basics from their foster mom. (See YouTube video referenced above; also watch 2nd training video - ).

All ARRF adoptees will have up-to-date shots, be microchipped, and will have been spay/neutered when they become adoptable. Generally speaking, puppies should be good with gentle children, dogs, and cats. Of course, all puppies will need to be housetrained.

Puppies obviously need a bit of attention, so prospective adopters should have someone either at home during the day or able to make frequent visits during the day. Adopters must agree to go to positive reinforcement classes to make sure that these youngsters can "be all that they can be." In addition to the adoption fee, ARRF will collect a $50 deposit that is refundable upon proof of class attendance within 6 months of adoption.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sophie, a Vista German Shepherd Dog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Vista, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog puppy from a breeder in Vista.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Vista already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Vista breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Vista paves the way for another one to be saved.
