Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Pikachu is an adorable, friendly and active 11-year-old male chinchilla looking for a loving guardian.
Pikachu was given up to rescue when his family could no longer care for him.
He has a diet of mostly hay, water, chinchilla pellets, and the occasional treat.
Chinchillas can overheat easily and cannot survive temperatures over 75F or below 50F. So, their cage needs to be kept in a cool room with lots of airflow without direct sunlight or high humidity. I have my ac on and a dehumidifier going to keep him comfy at my house.
Chinchillas are native to the Andes mountains of northern Chile. They are agile and able to jump around mountain peaks and their dense fur protects them from the cold.
Chinchillas are actually an endangered species in the wild because they were hunted for their fur. They were brought to America to make fur coats and the breeders were so enamored with how sweet and adorable they were that they also turned them into pets.

He comes complete with a four-level cage, pellets, hay, treats, glass water bottle, litter, dust bath, carrying case - everything you need to care for him. His adoption fee of $100 benefits the Friends of Petraits rescue group.
