My story

Meet Angus, a gentle giant! An ideal day for Angus would include bird watching, laser chasing, mealtime, and tucking himself under a blanket to nap. Angus can be shy when introduced to new people and while he is not necessarily a cuddler, he does enjoy lounging nearby and is never far away from those he trusts.

This handsome boy has a lot of fur and needs frequent brushing as well as a regular hair ball supplement. Angus is a big boy and is looking for a quiet home to continue building his confidence and to assist him with his weight loss journey which includes keeping him on a good quality wet food diet only.

He would prefer to be the only animal in his forever home, and if there are children in the home, they should be older. He enjoys having his people home with him during the day. Angus cannot wait to meet his forever people. Do you think that could be you?

Submit Application

Before submitting an application, we ask that you review the information on cat care and our policies here: https://www.vokra.ca/adopt

2.
Interview

Our adoption counsellors focus on educating our adopters on cat care. Once approved, they use a matching process to find your perfect pet.

3.
Meet the Pet

When you find a kitty you like, you will arrange an appointment with the foster home - where the kitty feels most comfortable and confident.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

Our adoptions contract process includes reviewing critical cat care information and providing contacts for post-adoption advice.

5.
Take the Pet Home

Woo hoo! You will be expected to take the kitty to a free post-adoption vet check within 2 weeks, and follow up on any required vet care.

Additional adoption info

Each year more than 1,400 cats and kittens are adopted through VOKRA. We're always here after the adoption if you need ongoing advice.

Response times can vary, depending on the time of year and available volunteer resources. Applications and help requests for non-emergency issues will usually receive a response in 1-3 days.
