My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ruby Rose is a beautiful 18 month old 12.4 lb yorkie girl who comes into UYR with her 3 puppies. Her adoption fee is $600. She is being fostered in St. Augustine.

UPDATED BIO 09/01/2017: Ruby Rose is doing amazingly well in her foster home. She is a smart girlie - she is already totally house-trained! She is a great eater and is now going on nice walks with her foster parents. Ruby rose gets so excited when the leashes come out because she LOVES her walks.

Sweet Momma Ruby has taking amazing care of her three little puppies who are now over 5 weeks old. However, now that the babies are more active and nursing less, she is getting a bit tired of them. The puppies’ teeth are coming in, so nursing is getting a somewhat painful. The puppies are starting to eat some soft puppy food and are also on milk replacement supplement between nursing. Although Ruby spends less time with her puppies, she still lovingly cares for them as long as foster mom is present. She loves her foster mom and wants to be near her at all times.

Ruby is a beautiful, sweet, loving dog and will be a great addition to a family that is looking for a young yorkie companion that will love her humans over the moon and back. All she asks in return is to love her and cuddle her and give her the security that she needs – forever and ever. Could that family be your’s?

UPDATED BIO 08/23/2017: Ruby Rose is a very sweet, gentle and loving soul. She was rescued from a hoarding situation and arrived with her 3 beautiful little puppies. She is a very good and attentive momma; however, it is now time for her to start weaning the pups. She is showing a bit less interest in the babies as she knows it is time for them to start to learn things on their own. Her job as a momma is not over yet, but she is in the stage of getting the pups ready and prepared for their new lives without her.

Ruby will not be available for adoption until the puppies have been completely weaned and adopted. She will also be spayed before she can go to her forever home.

Ruby is very attached to her Foster Mom and follows her around and is always within eye contact. She also often likes the security of a quiet corner or space that is a bit tucked away, but again always within eyesight of Foster Mom. Foster Mom has to sit with Ruby while she nurses the babies just to give her the security that she needs or she will leave the babies to follow Foster Mom. So of course, Foster Mom does not leave her when she is nursing.

Ruby Rose came from a horrible hoarding situation where there were 24 other dogs that were rescued at the same time. There was no house-training at all in this house, nor were the dogs allowed to go outside. Ruby Rose is very proud to brag that within the short time she has been with her Foster Mom, she is doing great with house-training - 4 days and counting and no accidents. She has learned to go out like a big girl to do her business. Foster Mom is truly amazed and proud of her that she has learned this in such a short period of time. She goes out on a regular basis and will run to the door if she needs to go out before schedule. Foster Mom is so proud of her.

Ruby is a beautiful, sweet, loving dog and will be a great addition to someone’s family that is looking for a young yorkie companion that will love you over the moon and back. All she asks in return is to love her and cuddle her and give her the security that she needs. Foster Mom wants her to know that … “This is my forever and ever home. I finally hit the jackpot and the rest of my life is now relaxed and happy and safe and secure and I will be loved for the rest of my life”.

INITIAL BIO 08/12/2017: Meet Ruby Rose. She is a beautiful yorkie princess who gave birth approximately 3 weeks ago to 3 adorable female puppies. Ruby Rose came from a horrendous hoarding situation, along with 25 other yorkies, some of who went into other rescue groups due to the number of dogs rescued at the same time.

Ruby Rose and the other yorkies that came into UYR did not receive any vaccinations, dental exams or other routine veterinarian care. Once she has finished nursing her puppies, she will be brought up-to-date on her vaccinations and receive any further vetting care she may need.

UYR took in a total of 11 dogs today from this hoarding situation, including Ruby Rose and her puppies. None of them had received any routine veterinarian care and all will need to receive vaccinations, worming, microchips, dentals, fecals, HW testing and will be altered. Please help us help Ruby Rose, her puppies and the other precious yorkies taken in today by donating to their vetting expenses, which will be very high due to the number of dogs coming in today. No donation is too small. You can donate to any of these dogs by clicking on the Donation Button below. Thank you from Ruby Rose and the other dogs, and especially from the folks at United Yorkie Rescue who participated in their rescue/transport and to the foster moms and dads who so eagerly stepped forward to foster these very needy little dogs.
