My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Swap is a large, friendly retired racing greyhound, 6 years old. He loves his toys and playing in his fenced yard. He is big and playful, with a goofy personality. No cats please. Kids over 8 years. 11/20/08 Swap is doing great. He goes in his crate when I leave for work and at night. He is very good and has not chewed his bedding. I put the big red furry bone and his bear in with him and I know that helps him. He is a fanatic with stuffed toys. My bedroom is his playroom. He collects every stuffed animal and brings them in the bedroom. Marion was outside with all the dogs and I collected the animals and put them back in the baskets. He came in from the yard and headed for the bedroom and stopped dead. Where are my toys? They’re gone. What will I do? He went all thru the house looking. When I finally stopped laughing, I showed him where the toy baskets were and one by one he brought them back to the bedroom. He has learned the routine and has settled in. He has his exuberant moments but seems very relaxed and comfortable. He is becoming very affectionate and loves to be pet and hugged. He nestles his head under your arm. He is so curious. He loves TV and Marion took him and Rosie for a walk. He met all the neighbors who think he is very sweet. He is a great dog, very sweet tempered.

11/24/08 Swap loves his crate. He has not destroyed any bedding. I put two of his favorite stuffed pals in with him when I put him in the crate for the day. The crate door is left open when I am at home and he sometimes enjoys taking a nap there. He loves balls. He has a big squeaky tennis ball and found the soccer ball in the yard. He would chase them for hours. He had my old girls running around the yard with him.

He is very affectionate and would like to be in your lap. He is not afraid of anything new (ie: the vacuum cleaner). He has a mind of his own and is very confident. He is so curious about everything and loves everyone he meets. He is a klutz but doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. He is high energy and I think would do well with older kids or teenagers to play with.

He has settled down a lot during the short week I have had him. He has learned to relax and not have to follow me everywhere.

He is a big collector of stuffed toys. He doesn’t destroy them, just collects. He is one sweet boy and whoever adopts him will be very lucky.
